Empowering Mental Wellness
Meet Elizabeth "Liz" Macshadiya

Elizabeth (Liz) Macshadiya, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who is board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center, with experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She is a graduate of San Jacinto College and earned her BSN through Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Her many years of experience working as a registered nurse in various medical and mental health facilities and organizations within the greater Houston area fueled her passion for the care of patients struggling to achieve mental wellness. This passion led Ms. Macshadiya to earn her master’s degree at Midwestern State University, enabling her to become a psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner and provide a higher level of care to her patients.

Ms. Macshadiya utilizes the biopsychosocial model when approaching patient care, believes in treating patients with unconditional positive regard, and encourages them to be active participants in their journey to wellness. Ms. Macshadiya provides assessments, psychoeducation with empathetic listening, and inclusion of patients in the discussion and selection of available treatment options as much as possible. She focuses on treating the whole person, and not just a diagnosis.  Ms. Macshadiya is available to see patients ages 16 and up in Texas and 6 and up in Washington State, Colorado, Michigan, New Mexico, and Iowa.

In her spare time, Ms. Macshadiya enjoys spending quality time with her husband and 4 rapidly growing children, her very loyal companions Daisy (5-year-old rescue Chiweenie), Simba (1-year-old Doxiepoo), Purple and Red (her two new rescue Siamese kittens) reading, listening to music (and singing along as best as she can), traveling, and giving back to her local community through volunteering. She is also a member of the Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurses of Houston and Houston Area Nurse Practitioners.
